About me

Hello my name is Lisa Urquhart and I am a qualified Hypnotherapist and Hypnobirthing instructor. I completed my diploma in Hypnotherapy in 2006, but with a busy role within the NHS it took a few years and the birth of my 'first' son to discover Hypnobirthing and how beneficial it can be for parents-to-be.

A friend of mine in London had used Hypnobirthing during her pregnancy and labour and highly recommended it, so I decided to use the techniques during my own pregnancy and labour. I can certainly say that the techniques helped enormously and I have had two extremely positive birth experiences with my boys Ryan and Jack.

Hypnobirthing dispels the myths that birth is painful. It provides the tools, techniques and knowledge enabling expecting couples to have a birth experience they want.

The Katherine Graves course I teach is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives. It is highly regarding as the home of Hypnobirthing.

Alongside my qualifications in Hypnobirthing and Hypnotherapy I also have a degree in Psychology and a diploma in Psychotherapy. I have worked in the NHS since 2008 as a non-clinical manager. As a result of my qualifications and work experience I have a wealth of knowledge to help mothers and fathers prepare for the birth of their child.

I currently teach private Hypnobirthing courses across Kent and offer group courses in Maidstone, Whitstable and Deal. The group courses are a great way to meet other parents-to-be.
